Are you looking to support someone who needs help?

Listen attentively. Show them that you understand and express kindness and compassion. Ask how you can support them and resist jumping in to problem-solve. You don’t have to have the answers. Try saying something like: “There’s help available; we’ll find it together. Feeling supported is often not about what the other person has said……it is how the other person made you feel.

Familiarize yourself with the supports available to better be able to direct and encourage others to use those supports that may be appropriate for their needs.
